Block Island Winter Cod
Capt Steven Jr reports another slammer day at the cod grounds on the Viking Star!!! As soon as we got anchored up the cod stared flying! By 9:30am we were pulling the anchor because everyone was loaded up with fish and we got underway early! Again, we had a lot of quality sized fish and a bunch of double headers to keep the gaffs busy. The first place pool winner was Jeff Nichols from Montauk with a a 22.5 Cod. The second place pool winner was John Brisciana from Port Jefferson, NY with a 21.8 lb Cod. The weather is not cooperating for Tuesday and Wednesday, but we are looking to get back out there on Thursday.
