Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Seabass
Captain Dave reports an excellent morning of porgy fishing aboard the Viking Starship. We started off in a different spot than usual where the porgy fishing was hot and we had some nice jumbo sized ones. We also had a few sea bass here. We had a good hour or two in this spot while conditions were good. We then went looking for seabass but it was very slow. We only had a handful of keepers and we had to pick through a lot of shorts. We then finished up close to the shore and the porgy bite was excellent here once, we had lots of double headers! We got some more mixed sized porgies here before heading back to the dock. The pool winner was John Vitello from Islip NY with a 3.2 lb scup.
