Sun Sept 8 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports a difficult start today on the the Viking Starship with a really good finish.  There was no bite at the Montauk Lighthouse to start the morning.  We had to go to deeper water to get the rods bending. The bite really picked up in 70-80 feet of water with mixed size Porgies, no Jumbos today, lots of Sea Bass, some Cod and some Green Bonitos. Everyone went home with some really nice keepers.  First place in the pool went to Noel Julio of Queens, NY with a 2.1 pound Scup.  Edible pool winner was Mark Palancia of Yorktown Heights, NY with a 4 pound Cod.
