Tue Oct 8 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports very good fishing on the Viking Starship. Inshore by Block Island was great with mostly Large and Jumbo Porgies and some SeaBass mixed in. Once everyone had their fill of Porgies we went offshore to find the SeaBass. It was a good steady pick of very nice size SeaBass along with some medium size Porgies. There were also some Bluefish today and about a 1/2 dozen Trigger Fish that were the biggest we have seen this season. The first place pool winner was Benny Niranjen with a monster 3.4 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Pete SeaBrook from Kings Park, NY with a 4.2 lb Jumbo SeaBass. Unfortunately the 5am Block Island Porgy & SeaBass trip is cancelled for Wednesday Oct 9, Thursday Oct 10 and Friday Oct 11 due to the weather. We will hopefully be back out there on Saturday!
