Fri Sept. 4 Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Capt. Dave reports a good day of fishing for Porgies, but a little slow on the Sea Bass bite. We spent the morning half way to Block Island, there we had a good pick of Porgies and a handful of Sea Bass. Then we decided to go for Sea Bass, we had a good pick of Sea Bass and we had tons of Porgies in the Sea Bass ground. The fishing over there was good everyone got or got close to their limit with some beautiful fish to take home. We finished the day going back by the Lighthouse for Porgies, over there they were off the bite again because of the full moon tide so we had to pick through the small fish but we caught a couple nice keepers over there. The pool winner was Tali Abecassis from Engwood, NJ, with a 2.5 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Safet Koracevic from Staten Island, NY, with a 4.2 lb Sea Bass.
