Sun Sept 6 – Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a great day on the Viking Starship. It was a little slower start at the lighthouse today. We had a couple of drifts where the Porgies were smaller then we like and the bite was a little spotty. After we moved to the East, the fishing improved in a big way. Larger Porgies and quality Sea Bass started coming over the rail. We had a nice variety of fish including Fluke and Trigger Fish. Lennox Hinkson of Westbury, NY won the first place pool with a 3 lb Porgy and Jess Hernandez of Brooklyn, NY won the edible pool with a 5 lb Fluke.
