Sun May 23 – The Abyss LTD

Wed May 19 – Sat May 23
Capt Steven Sr reports a tough offshore trip. The weather man was dead wrong! Mother nature took course and gave us 20 -25 of NE wind and the tide came from the east. With the wind and tide together it made for a fast drift! This made conditions very unfavorable for the deep drop. We drilled it out and managed to put the first day together with medium to large fish. On day 2 the wind stopped, but we still had the hard tide. We got in a few hours of tile fishing and then the hit a few wrecks finding Cod and big Bergalls. Day 3 we got in some Fluke fishing around Nantucket. Conditions were totally against us from the first to last drift fishing through wind, rain and fog. We had a bunch of shorts and a handful of keepers. Even with all of the set backs coolers went home with nice bags of fillets. Unfortunately with the upcoming forecast Abyss II has been cancelled.

Pool Winners:
Tile – Peter Wang – 30 lbs
Fluke – Louis Miller – 8.5 lb Fluke
Edible – Peter Chiu – 25 lb Cod
