Capt J.R. reports a slammer Tuna trip on the Viking Star. The excellent Tuna fishing to the West kept us from our usual Tile grounds to the East. However, the first day we fished some Southern canyons and had a pick of Tiles with decent action in some areas. We steamed off to the Tuna grounds and found some red hot fishing for the first half of the first night. The day bite was picky but boated Tunas all day long. The last night was absolutely lock and load from the minute the sun went down. Both bait fishing and jigging was working splendidly as we easily caught our limit and headed in early. The Tuna pool winner went to Bill Beacher from Danbury, CT with a 83lb Yellow Fin Tuna. The Tile fish pool winner went to Gianni Pepa from Babylon, NY with a 20lb Tile fish.
