Back to Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Sat June 25 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Starship. To start the morning we headed down the beach to get out of the tide. It was slower fishing than we have been seeing. Even when it picked up it didn’t last long. We found good size Porgies at the lighthouse, but again it didn’t last long. The best fishing we saw was off to the east. It was a really good shot of mixed Porgies and SeaBass on the anchor. Then we drifted and had medium to large Porgies with SeaBass mixed in. The first place pool winner was Chiquinquirio Hilario from Phiadelphia, PA with a 2.8 lb Porgy. Trevor Whyte from Manhattan took the edible pool with a 3 1/4 lb SeaBass. We are looking forward to having the Viking Starship back full time for Porgies & SeaBass starting in July. The Porgy & SeaBass trip will be on the Viking Star next week, while the Viking Starship is finishing up its 2022 Offshore Season. This picture is from this afternoon on the way back to the Viking Dock.
