Mon July 11 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. The morning started off a bit slow, as we were fighting the tide. We managed to escape the tide down the beach and get into a pile of mixed sized Porgies. When conditions got better we worked our way around the Lighthouse and made a few drifts catching the target sized large and jumbo Porgies. Then made our way East to grab the SeaBass. We had to pick our way through lots of short Bass, but everyone managed to get their limit of keeper SeaBass. Lots of Mackerall coming on the boat. The first place pool winner went to Benny from Queens with a 2.5 lb Porgy. We will be sailing tomorrow Tuesday July 12th at 5am.
