Sat Sept 10 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. The morning started off a bit slow as we struggled to hide from the tide. The full moon tide as running hard and didn’t make for the best conditions, but as the day carried out we started to get a lot of action. After waiting it put a bit we made a couple drifts around the Lighthouse which made for a great sized Porgy selection. We then made our way to the east towards Block Island to fish for some SeaBass, where we had some excellent fishing. We had a mixed bag of Large- Jumbo Porgies, Large SeaBass, keeper Fluke, Trigger Fish and a couple of Striped Bass. Lot of species on the boat and lots of fun as always. The first place pool winner went to Lesli Yesenia Veloz from Lakewood, NJ with a 3 lb Jumbo Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Derrick Buchanan from Teaneck, NJ with a 12 lb Striped Bass.
