Wed Sept 21 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. This morning we started off fishing close to Block Island where we had some good fishing, there were plenty of Porgies to go around, but the SeaBass were on the smaller side, so we had to pick through to find our keepers. We then made our way offshore to search for some larger SeaBass and when the conditions were right the fishing was great. We had to bounce around a but offhshore, but we had lots of large SeaBass between 3-4 lbs. We did pull some Summer Flounder and 2 keeper Cod onto the boat. We only had one pool today on the boat that went to Doc Keys from the Bronx with a 3 1/4 lb Porgy. We will not be sailing due to weather tomorrow Thursday, September 22nd. Hopefully we will be able to get out for Friday.
