Sat Nov 5 – Blackfish & Sea Bass

Capt JR reports a good day on the Viking Star. We started out this morning steaming off to the Sea Bass grounds. We found lots and lots of big jumbo Sea Bass. We easily boated a limit and also found a good sprinkling of COD to top off the baskets. The Blackfish weren’t chewing the bottom of the boat out, but we definitely had a good pick with several guys getting their limit. Those who had some Blackfish savvy ended up with a decent catch. The big one for the day was around 8.5-9lbs. The Blackfish pool winner was Al Martin from Queens, NY with a 6 1/2 lber. The Sea Bass pool winner was Januse Kuprel from Islip, NY with a 4 lb. There is a bunch of space available for tomorrow. The office opens at 4am for check in and ticket sales.
