Thur July 27 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports excellent Porgy fishing this morning on the Viking Starship, despite windy conditions. The weather this morning was nice until about 10 am and we had some nice drops with mostly large sized Porgies coming up and a few small ones. When the wind kicked up we worked our way offshore and anchored up for a bit and found a nice mix of medium to small size SeaBass and some Porgies in the mix. Fishing was today ended up being very good with a total of 12 keeper Fluke on the boat. The pool fish today was around 2 1/2 lbs. We will be sailing tomorrow (Friday, July 28th) at 5am for our Montauk Lighthouse Porgies and SeaBass.
