Wed Aug 2 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports another great day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We stared off the morning in some of our usual spots and seemed to get right on the bite. Fishing was as good as it’s been lately with a lot more of the larger Porgies, and a few jumbo fish in the mix and even a few SeaBass. After couple hours we worked our way into the the SeaBass grounds and found a handful of nice sized fish, with some throwbacks. We did see a few Mackerell again on the boat today as was as some really nice Fluke up to 6 lbs. The first place pool winner today went to Frederick Nichols from Nassau County with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Everald Golding from the Bronx, NY with 5 lb Fluke. We will be sailing again tomorrow (Thursday, August 3rd) on the Viking Starship on our 5 am Montauk Lighthouse Porgies and SeaBass.
