Sat Aug 26 – Full Day Block Island Fluke & Sea Bass

Capt J.R. reports a little bit of a tough start to our journey this morning on the Viking Starlite. A large leftover swell seemed like it scattered the fish from our recent hot spots. However, after some searching around we found some real quality catching! The fluke bite turned on and we landed some real studs in the 5-9 lb. class with other keeper sized fish joining their larger friends in our buskets. The sea bass fishing was also very good with an easy boat limit of big knot headed creatures topping off our catch. Definitely a quality day of angling. The Fluke first prize pool winner went to Seegobinn Rupnarine with a 9 lb Fluke. The Seabass pool winner went to Martin Dowd with a 3 lb.
