Wed Sept 6 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. The first drop down this morning was a bit slow, not many keepers, but some action. On our second drop we found some really great sized fish, but not a lot of them. On the third drop we found our quantity and quality, with plenty of keeper Porgies to go around. We only had a few SeaBass mixed in with this pick, so we worked our way to the east and tried a few spots. We found a handful out there, but had to pick our way through a lot of little stuff. We did have a large Striped Bass, but unfortunately was out of the slot limit and had to be thrown back. The pool winner went to Daryl Butler from Easton, PA with a 2 1/2 lb. Porgy.
