Mon Sept 4 to Thurs Sept 7 – 3 Day TNT Ultra LTD

Capt J.R. reports a very productive 3 day trip on the Viking Star. We trolled up some nice yellowfin tuna on our way to the tile grounds which kept our ride out busy. The tile action was excellent from start to finish on day one with everyone boating meaty Viking tiles. The best action we have seen in quite some time. The afternoon brought about some more nice yellowfin tuna on the troll to close out the excellent day.

Day two was much of the same tuna wise. A pick of yellowfins in the morning. The tile bite was a little off for the second day of fishing but we still found a pick of fish in all the areas we tried. We also hauled up a few barrel fish, pollock, big hake, and cusk to spice up the catch. Added bonus we nabbed a few more yellowfin on our return journey home. The weather was beautiful and we had a great trip with lots of meat in the coolers! Our pool winners for the trip were Dan Diamond with a 33 lb. Tile fish, Jimmy Yanolatos with a 15 lb. Barrel fish, and Dominic Ternulio with a 53 lb Yellowfin Tuna.
