Thur Sept 28 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a pretty decent day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. After being blown in from the wind following Hurricane Ophelia, we were finally able to get back out on our first trip and had a better day of fishing than expected. Fishing today was more quality over quantity with a slow bite, but some nice fish coming up all around the boat. we saw a mix size of Porgies, mostly medium and large, not really any jumbo fish. We did have a nice pick of SeaBass as well as some keeper Fluke, a few Mackerell, and quite a few Cod on the boat. Overall, fishing was on the tougher side but we managed a decent pick for everyone to go home with some quality fish. Our pool winner went to Neptali Trasporte from Bergenfield, NJ with a 2.7 lb. Porgy. We will DEFINITELY be sailing tomorrow (Friday, September 29th) on another 5 am Block Island Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass, so call or book online to secure your spot!
