Fri Oct 27 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports an excellent day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. Fishing was red hot today, probably some of the best fishing we’ve had in a while. A whole new body of fish seemed to have moved in today, with non-stop action, biting at all tides. We hugged in close to the island today and had some really nice jumbo Porgies, there were still a lot of little SeaBass to pick through but everyone seemed to have their limit of nice sized fish. We also had a some gorilla Blue fishing action today, landing upwards of 10 Blues around 15 lbs. We also landed about 3 keeper Striped Bass aboard today to top things off. We had a tie for first prize pool winner today between Thomas Pollock and Elias Diamantopoulos both with jumbo 3 lb Porgies. The edible pool winner went to Ryan Syphrett from Babylon with a 17 lb Gorilla Blue Fish. Spaces are limited for tomorrow’s trip so make a reservation before we sell out. The ticket office will open at 4 am for checkin and the boat leaves at 5am.
