Thurs Oct 26 – Night Squid Jigging

Capt Carl is happy to report the that the Squid Bite Beat Goes On! It was a beautiful warm moonlit night and a steady bite as well as soon as we anchored up. Some guys who were really dialed in caught them all night long while others caught during the flurries. Thankfully, we had plenty…

Thur Oct 26 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. Conditions were similar to yesterday so we started off our morning inshore and drifted with the tide with lots of bites. We milled our way through lots of little fish, mostly SeaBass, but had a nice little shot of decent sized…

Attention Viking Angers! A variety of trips for Everyone!! Blackfish Haven Trip Added! We have adjusted the Blackfish and Coxes Ledge trips on the Viking Star a bit for the fall schedule. Wed Oct 25 – Night Squid Jigging

Capt Carl reports a good night of squid fishing for some squid-a-holics , and a tougher night for others. Once again, they started biting as soon as we anchored up and we picked away for the first half of the night with some good flurries of large tubes. The later part of the night, however, slowed down to a slow pick. We still read them good on the fish finder and saw them swimming all around the boat, but for whatever reason, they slowed down to bite. Some folks had plenty for a couple of dinners AND bags to put in the freezer, while some folks had enough for a couple of dinners. We will be back at it again tonight at 6:30PM, and Friday night as well. Saturday night is SOLD OUT. We do still have room Sunday night….

Wed Oct 25 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We started out by the island and had tons of Sea Bass with some very nice ones mixed in with the throwbacks. Offshore we loaded up on Porgies and found bigger Sea Bass up to 4 lbs. There were also a handful of Cod and Trigger fish. Sailing tomorrow at 5AM. The office opens at 4am for ticket sales. There is plenty of room so come on out!

Wed Oct 25 – Blackfish & Sea Bass

Capt JR reports a good day on the Viking Star. It was good Sea Bass wise. We hit some productive Sea Bass drops early and found a nice supply of knot heads to start off the day. The Blackfish bite was definitely off a bit. We bounced around a few rock piles and found some…

Tue Oct 24 – Night Squid Jigging

Capt Carl reports another SOLID night of Squid fishing on the Viking Starlite. It was not quite as good as our last outing, but still just fine! As soon as we started fishing, we started catching! The bite got better and better and eventually turned into a crazy flurry of all big squid coming up all around the boat with many double headers! That lasted for a bit, then turned into a pick. The rest of the night saw the same pattern, where we would pick away, have a good action packed flurry, then turn into a pick again. All in all, it was good fishing! We are SOLD OUT for tonight (Wednesday night), but have space available Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Night. The weather and conditions look awesome, so come and get them while they are here!

Tue Oct 24 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a fine day on the Viking Starship. We moved around a bunch today putting in 5 drops. Each lasted about an hour, but the action was very good with mostly keeper Sea Bass and the Porgies were large and all was very good quality. There were also about a 1/2 dozen Cod….

Tue Oct 24 – Coxes Ledge Cod & Sea Bass

Capt JR reports a good start to the fall Cox’s Ledge Sea Bass & Cod trips. We had a very nice pick of QUALITY Sea Bass all day with some very nice Cod in the mix as well. Guys who used the jig/jelly worm combo definitely put on a clinic with the Sea Bass as…

Mon Oct 23 – Blackfish & Sea Bass

Capt JR reports a decent start to the 2023 local black fish/sea bass trips. We had a pick of quality blackfish for the beginning of trip with a few nice sea bass mixed in. We moved a little farther offshore and found better sea bass fishing with some real jumbos coming over the rail. All around a good start to the fall fishing.  The SeaBass pool winner went to Francis Daskalakis from New York with a 5.4 lb SeaBass. The Black fish pool winner went to Donald Wetzel from New Jersey with a 4.8 lb Black Fish.  Our next Black fish and SeaBass trip will be sailing on Wednesday, October 25th at 5am.
