Mon Nov 13 – Blackfish & Sea Bass

Capt JR reports another solid day of local fishing on the Viking Star. We started off the morning a little slow but quickly headed offshore and found an abundance of knot head sea bass with a few nice codfish in the mix. We backtracked a bit for the afternoon and found a very nice mixed bag catch of sea bass, blackfish, and more cod to top off our catch. The day ended with an easy boat limit of jumbo sea bass, a nice showing of cod, a sprinkling of hub cap scup, and (for those who chose to target them) some very nice Black fish. All in all a very enjoyable day. The SeaBass pool winner went to Mark Rafferty from Medford, NY with a 4.2 fish. The Black fish pool went to Kendall Gillliam from Willingboro, NJ with a 3.5 pounder.  Our next Black fish and SeaBass trip on schedule is for Wednesday, November 15th.
