Sat July 20 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship! We decided to start our morning off our morning out of the tide, fishing to the east and had some decent action, but mostly small SeaBass with a few keepers in the mix, as well as some smaller Porgies. After the tide switched we worked our way back towards the lighthouse and anchored up for the rest of our trip where most our anglers found their limit on Porgies. we had a lot of large Porgies today with some jumbos mixed in, but pretty much all the fish around here were on the large side. The first prize pool winner went to Mickel Modoo from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.6 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Guillmo Atterson from NJ with a 4 lb SeaBass. We will be sailing again tomorrow at 5am for our Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead SeaBass, our ticket office will be open at 4am for check-in.
