Sun July 21 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a lively day of fishing on the Viking Starship. The tide threw us off a bit today, making us move around more than we would like, but we definitely had our fish today. We started off the morning off the lighthouse and had a good two drifts there with mixed sized Porgies, but the tide started running hard so we made our way off to the east to get out of those conditions and get our SeaBass. The SeaBass seemed to be on the smaller side today with more throwbacks than keepers, but we did manage a good amount of keeper fish. We then ran back to the lighthouse to finish off our trip and it was an absolute bail job, with tons of Porgy and Mackerell action for our last hour and a half of the trip, with some better sized fish. The pool winner went to Manual Peries from Guatemala with a 2.8 lb Porgy! We will definitely be sailing tomorrow at 5am. Please be advised, we will be imposing a pricing update starting tomorrow for our Montauk Lighthouse Porgies and SeaBass, we will be offering a reduced rate if you book online. Tickets will be more expensive when purchasing at the window in the morning.
