Thurs Aug 8 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started the morning anchored up off the lighthouse and had a really nice shot of large and jumbo sized Porgies for over an hour. When the strong tide started ripping we worked our way offshore, pretty much straight south to try to get on the SeaBass. They definitely were biting today, but we had to pick through a lot of little fish to get those nice keeper to large sized SeaBass. A few anglers found there limit, but there was a lot of throwback for the SeaBass. The pool winner today went to Jorge Contreras from Westbury, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. We will NOT be sailing tomorrow on our 5am Montauk Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass trip (Friday, August 9th) due to weather.
