Mon Aug 26 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a very productive day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started our morning off with an anchor drop off the lighthouse, Porgy fishing was excellent to start and we were able to work this area for an hour or so before making a move as the smaller fish rolled in. We did about 2-3 more drops following and had a good pick of fish. we ventured off to the east and saw some better sized SeaBass, definitely better in size today than the past few days. We did also land about 10-11 keeper Fluke aboard today while fishing closer to Block Island, as well as 1 or 2 Blue fish. The pool winner today went to Orvel Smith from Queens, NY with a 2.4 lb Porgy. We will be sailing again tomorrow at 5am for our Montauk Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass, check-in will start at 4am.
