Fri Oct 4 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Star. We started out tight to the island in shallow water and the fishing was good. When the tide got going fishing got tough so we moved to 70 feet of water and found a lot of little Sea Bass, but everyone managed a few keepers. We headed to deeper water, about 90 feet and had a slow and steady pick to finish the trip. It was a light bite, but catching was good. There were mostly Porgies there. All in all we put together a nice catch. The pool winner was Antonio Borges from Union City, NJ with a 2.8 lb Porgy. We will still be sailing on the Viking Star this weekend. The trip is SOLD OUT for tomorrow and reservations are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for Sunday!
