Wed Sept 24 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports decent fishing on the Viking Starship. There were good conditions by Block Island to start. We picked away at nice size Porgies and smaller Sea Bass for about two hours. Then we worked our way offshore making a few drops. There were a lot more smaller Sea Bass today, but plenty of nice ones for everyone and less Porgies mixed in then yesterday. Also, we had a 6 lb Fluke and a big Bonita. First place pool winner was Ignacio Castillo from Queens with a 3.2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Winston Vincent with a 10 lb False Albacore. Unfortunately tomorrow’s trip is cancelled due to the inclement weather expected.
