Fri July 17 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Seabass

Captain Dave reports a GREAT day of fishing aboard the Viking Starship! We started the day east of the Lighthouse, where the Porgy fishing was nonstop for the first three hours of the trip. We enjoyed steady action with a great mix of Porgies, mostly medium-sized with plenty coming over the rails. Later, we made our way toward Block Island in search of Sea Bass. We picked away at a mix of shorts and keeper-sized fish while also adding more quality Porgies to the coolers. Congratulations to our pool winner, Patrick Newel of New Jersey, who landed a beautiful 2.6-pound Porgy! Great fishing, great weather, and a fun day on the water. We look forward to seeing everyone back aboard soon!
