Tue Aug 11 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports an okay day on the Viking Starship. The trip started with a hard flood tide at the lighthouse, so we went down the beach. It was kind of picky there. We headed to the Sea Bass spot and it was loaded with mostly small fish. We did have some keeper Sea Bass along with Fluke, Blues and about 30 Triggerfish that made for a lot of excitement. We stopped at the lighthouse on our way in and had a good pick of Porgies, but only had an hour of fishing there until we had to head back to the dock. The pool winner was Melvin Martinez from Queens, NY with a 2.7 lb Porgy.
