Fri Sept 4 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. We started off way down the beach out of the tide and we had nice size Porgies. Once a whale showed up the fishing really slowed down, so we headed to the lighthouse. It was a steady pick of drifting with mixed size Porgies. We then worked our way east and had a few keeper Sea Bass, Porgies, Fluke and Triggerfish.
Mike Zakas from Northport, NY won the first place pool with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Jason Mills from Bronx, NY with a 4 lb Fluke.
