Sat Sept 12 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports an okay day on the Viking Starship. We started out on the anchor midway to Block Island and picked away very well. It was the best fishing we saw with mixed size Porgies and some Sea Bass. There were a lot of Sea Bass closer to the island with nice size Porgies in the mix. There were a few Triggerfish. It was a bit slower there with the strong moon tide creating a fast drift causing a lot of tangles. The first place pool winner was Errand Folkes from East Orange, NJ with a 2 1/4 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Dennard Wright from Westhampton, NY with a 3 1/2 lb Sea Bass.
