Back to Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Tue Oct 6 to Fri Oct 9 – 3 Day TNT

Captain JR reports a good TNT trip onboard the mighty Viking Star. The weather was definitely a factor and kept us limited to just a day of Tile fishing. Conditions were not great, but we found a variety of bottom species in the deep water including Golden Tilefish, Blue Line Tilefish, Pollock, Hake, Cusk, and Black Belly Rosefish.
The Tuna portion of the trip was definitely more productive. It wasn’t a full on blood bath, but guys who put in the work were rewarded with a good catch of Yellowfin Tuna. More than a few people ended up with a limit. In addition, we had three nice Swordfish, one STUD at 220 pounds! And a HAMMER Bigeye Tuna weighing in at 201 pounds! It was definitely a challenge dealing with the conditions on this trip, but everyone put in a valiant effort and helped us get a good catch together.
