Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Montauk

Sat June 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports a beautiful afternoon aboard the Viking Star. Fishing was steady until slack tide. It slowed for a bit but picked up on the incoming tide. No keeper fluke, but we did have keeper Sea Bass and Scup.

Sat June 25 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Starship. To start the morning we headed down the beach to get out of the tide. It was slower fishing than we have been seeing. Even when it picked up it didn’t last long. We found good size Porgies at the lighthouse, but again it didn’t…

Sat June 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Carl reports an action packed morning trip on the Viking Star. The weather was as nice as it gets… flat calm and sunny and the fish were biting! We had steady action to start but most everything was on the smaller side. As the tide started picking up, so did the fishing and the…

Fri June 24 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports much better fishing today on the Viking Star. It was a good morning at the with really nice size Porgies and a few SeaBass mixed in. We then ventured to the east and found mixed size Porgies and SeaBass. There was a good ratio of Porgies to SeaBass out there, but it…

Thurs July 23 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a slower trip on the Viking Star. Fishing in general was a bit off the bite with the east wind today. Porgy fishing was a slow pick with little fish in the mix. SeaBass was tough on the first day. We threw back a lot to keep a few, but there were…

Full Report to Follow… Pool Winner – Charles Munsey from Shoreham, NY with a 3.5 lb Sea Bass.

Tue June 20 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt JR reports a good trip on the Viking Starlite. We started out with a decent pick of Fluke with a few Porgies in the mix. As we changed zones a couple Striped Bass were landed yielding a nice keeper for the cooler. The last hour or so of the trip the Fluke bite turned on and we had lots of action and some nice keepers all around the boat.

Mon June 20 – 1/2 Day Fishing

Capt Carl reports a much slower then usual afternoon half day trip today. There was a lot of seaweed covering our baits and hooks and dirty water. Probably from after the strong winds from the last couple of days, but we expect it to clear out overnight. We look forward to sailing again tomorrow afternoon!

Mon June 20 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a steady day of fishing on the Viking Star. The pick was a bit slower than usual, but there were some big Porgies in the mix along with a handful of keeper Blue Fish and Stripped Bass. They spent most the morning around the Lighthouse and worked their way over to the…
