Mon Oct 4 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Starship despite the weather.  In the middle of the squall we were close to Block Island and the Porgies bit very well. We were able to get offshore in the deep and we had a handful of Cod, Jumbo Seabass and Porgies ranging from mediums to large. The first place pool winner was Jose Sopa from Queens, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Mike Hay from Brooklyn, NY with an 8 lb Cod. The trip is CANCELLED tomorrow due to weather.

Sun Oct 3rd – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing today on the Viking Starship. Spent the morning close to Block Island and had tons of action with a mix of Porgies and Sea Bass of all sizes. They loaded up on some big Sea Bass and good sized Porgies. They moved offshore after it started to get a little rough and had more big Sea Bass and smaller sized Porgies. Then they moved a little farther offshore into the deeper water and pulled up some Jumbo and Large sized Porgies and 8 Cod fish. Overall great fishing and lots of fun. The first place pool winner went to Xuchu Lin of Queens, NY with a 2.7lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Wagu Brotheuaitz with a 7lb Cod fish.

Sat Oct 2- 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Captain JR Gibson reports that we had high winds and some inconvenient seas kept us from the productive grounds we fished this morning. However, we bounced around some local rock piles and found some very nice porgies with some beautiful jumbo sea bass in the mix. Not a bad trip.  Today’s pool winner was Victoria Maursky of rockville Center who landed a 5.5 lb Trigger fish.

Saturday Oct 2nd – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt. Dave reports excellent conditions today for drifting. We caught plenty of mixed size SeaBass and Porgies, some on the smaller size but we alos had plenty of nice sized ones mixed in. We headed offshore where we anchored up and had fantastic Seabass fishing catching fish in the 2 to 4lb range as well as bigger Porgies.  The Porgy pool today was taken by Willie Recinos of Lindenhurst NY by catching himself a 3lb Porgy. Mr. Park was today’s edible pool winner with a 7lb Cod.

Friday Oct 1st – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports slow fishing today on the Viking Starship. There was halfway decent fishing this morning in the shallower water with medium sized Porgies, small Sea Bass and a handful of keeper Sea Bass. They moved offshore later in the day and fishing was still slow. There was a small pick of big sized Sea Bass and Porgies in the deeper water. After making another move they had some action, but not any good sizes. There were 8 keeper Cods on the boat. The first place pool winner and edible pool winner went to Hristos Karayiannis with a 3.3lb Porgy and a 7lb Cod.

Thursday Sept 30 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports great fishing today on the Viking Starship. Porgy fishing was excellent today, there was lots of action with mostly large Porgies and many Jumbo sized. They went out into the deep to look for the Sea Bass, which ended up being a bit slower today than its been, but there were a handful of nice sized Sea Bass. The boat had about 10 Cod fish come up, all good sized. The pool winner went to Winston Vincent  from the Bronx, NY with a 3lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went Min Wu of Brooklyn, NY with an 8lb Cod fish.

Tues Sept 28th- 60 Hour Tuna/Mahi LTD
