Fri Aug 30 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Fri Aug 30 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a great day on the Viking Starship. We started out at the lighthouse and had difficult wind/tide conditions and a 3 knot drift. So we headed off to the SeaBass grounds and had plenty of action. Everyone had their SeaBass limit and we found more Porgies there than we have seen in awhile. We made a stop at the lighthouse on our way back and it was another BAIL JOB of BIG Porgies and some Bluefish! The first place pool winner was Jose Enrique from Bayshore, NY with a 2.6 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Gordon Siess with a 3.8 lb SeaBass.

Fri Aug 30 – Inshore Charter – Viking Fivestar

Capt Derek reports a great morning charter on the Viking Fivestar. We started off down the beach and found plenty of Porgies and short SeaBass. We headed back and fished under the radar and had plenty of action with keeper Fluke, Big Porgies and SeaBass. Congratulations Capt Derek on your maiden voyage!

Thurs Aug 29 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Dave G reports a good afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had beautiful conditions and the fish were hungry. We caught a mixed bag of Porgies, Sea Bass and a couple keeper Fluke. The pool winner was Albie Snolis from Smithtown, NY with 4.3 lb SeaBass.

Thurs Aug 29- 1/2 Day AM

Capt Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We caught plenty of jumbo porgies, some sea bass and some nice big fluke. The first place pool winner was John Mepeake from NY,NY with a 7.2lb Fluke. The second pool winner was Dean Iude from NYC with a 5.75 lb Fluke.

Thurs Aug 29 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & SeaBass

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead SeaBass The Viking Starship is Back!!!!!!!! Capt Dave reports a BAIL JOB at the lighthouse! We made a day of it close by where there were plenty of BIG Porgies to go around with SeaBass mixed in. We also had a bunch of Bluefish and a keeper Striped Bass. The pool winner was Wendell Baker from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.75 lb Scup.

Wed Aug 28 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Star today. We had Big Big Porgies and plenty of them at the lighthouse. There were also a bunch of Bluefish. We also headed offshore for a quick drift and almost everyone had their limit of keeper SeaBass. There were also some keeper Fluke up to 5 lbs. Unfortunately the angler with the biggest Fluke was not in the pool! The first place pool winner was Chief Johnson from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.1 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Amin Paredes from NY, NY with a 3.7 lb Sea Bass.

Wed Aug 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Stariper. Despite the difficult weather conditions the fish were biting from the beginning of the trip until the end. We ended up with a nice catch of sea bass and porgies. The pool winner was Henry Ruh with a 3 lb SeaBass.

Tue Aug 27 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Dave G reports a good afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had great conditions for the afternoon trip, and the fish were hungry. We caught 5 keeper Fluke, Porgies, big Sea Bass, and a Striped Bass. The first place pool winner was Alyssa Frey from Coram, NY with a 5.25 lb Fluke. The edible pool winner was Ethan Ayer from NYC, NY with a 4.25 lb Sea Bass.

Tue Aug 27 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Star. We had to do some looking around this morning and we did find a nice pile of fish. It was excellent on the flood tide and they were mostly large Porgies. We had a slow period when the tide started to ebb, but after that it got really good again. It was mostly Porgies today with some SeaBass and 100 + Bluefish! The pool winner was Ifa Gordon from the Bronx with a 2.9 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Ed Green from Brooklyn with a 3.1 lb SeaBass.
