Sat June 29 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. There was good Porgy action by the point while we were anchored, but it was a bit thin on SeaBass. We searched for SeaBass and found some Jumbos mixed in with smaller ones. It wasn’t our usual catch, but everyone had some. The first place pool winner was Gregory rodriguez from Woodhaven, Queens with a 4 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Beris Nembhard with a 5 lb SeaBass.

Fri June 29 – 1/2 Day AM

Capt Mike reports a good morning on the Viking Star. It was a slow start since we started between tides, but it picked up and we put a catch together. We had action with shorts and caught keeper Fluke, a bunch of SeaBass and a Striped Bass. The first place pool winner was Jack White from Asbury Park, NJ with a 4.5 lb Fluke. The edible pool winner was Annie Holcombe from Bronxville, NY with a 15 lb Striped Bass.

Fri June 28 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & SeaBass

 Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Star. We started out with good conditions at the lighthouse with mixed size Porgies. We then moved off to the east for SeaBass and found a lot of smaller fish, but we picked thru them and got what we needed. There were a couple of quality keeper Fluke caught again today. The pool winner was Fred Nichols from Hempstead, NY with a 3 1/4 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Noel Enson from Brooklyn, NY with a 5 lb SeaBass. Tomorrow we will start sailing daily for Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead SeaBass on the 140 foot Jumbo Viking Starship!

Fri June 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports steady action on the Viking Stariper. It was a slow start, but it picked up and remained steady until the end. We had keeper Fluke along with some shorts and a bunch of keeper SeaBass. The pool winner was 8 year old Eli Schechter from Montauk, NY with a 5 1/2 lb Fluke.

Thurs June 27 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

1/2 Day Fishing PM Capt Steven Jr reports a good afternoon on the Viking Stariper with plenty of action. We didn’t have as many keeper Fluke as the morning trip, but we still had a few. A mess of SeaBass & Porgies were in the mix as well. The pool winner was Bruce Lessler from Franklin Sauare, NY with a 2.7 lb Fluke.

Thur June 27 Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgy and Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports from the Viking Star a decent day drifting around the Montauk Lighthouse. A good mix of large to Jumbo Porgies, Sea Bass and quite a few Fluke. Some quality Fluke were landed. A lot of Sea Bass shorts were caught and released unharmed, but almost everyone got their limit of Sea Bass keepers. The largest Sea Bass was 4 1/2 pounds and many over 4 pounds were taken home. Pool winners were Jeff Greenbaum of Scarsdale, NY with a 3 3/4 pound Scup and Roy Shaw of Brooklyn, NY with an 8 pound Fluke. +3  

Thurs June 28- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

1/2 Day Fishing Trip AM Capt. Steven reports a great morning with tons of action the whole trip. We had a good amount of keeper Fluke and a handful of keeper Seabass with some porgies mixed in. The pool winner is Steve Bento from Montauk NY with a 5lb Fluke.

Wed June 26 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

1/2 Day PM Capt Mike reports a lot of action on the Viking Stariper. It was a steady pick of shorts with a couple keeper Fluke, a few keeper SeaBass and some Porgies. The pool winner was Walker Thomas from Austin, TX with a 3 lb Fluke.

Wed June 26 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports an excellent day on the Viking Star. We had mixed size Porgies at the Lighthouse with limits all around the boat. We then headed east for SeaBass where we had a mix of smaller fish, but some big ones mixed in. We also had a bunch of keeper Fluke. The first place pool winner Kim Ping Chan from Brooklyn with a 4 1/2 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Pete Seabrook from Long Island with a 6 lb Fluke.
