Wed June 26 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain Mike reports a good morning on the Viking Stariper. We had steady action all morning with good drifts and all anglers catching. We had a few Porgies, some keeper Fluke and plenty of Sea Bass shorts and a few Sea Bass keepers. Today’s pool winner was Donn Rocco of Centereach NY with a 3 1/2 pound Fluke.  

Tue June 25 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports perfect conditions on the Viking Star today. We had a great drift at the lighthouse and picked away all morning putting a great catch together. The Porgies were mostly large and jumbo up to 3 1/2 lbs. We made a SeaBass stop on the way back finding a lot of little fish, but everyone had their limit with fish up to 5 lbs. There were also 2 keeper Fluke and a bunch of throwbacks. We did not have a pool today.

Fri June 21 to Sun June 23 – Georges Bank Cod & Nantucket Fluke – Viking Fivestar

Captain Steven Jr reports on the Viking Fivestar that they had a phenomenal first day Fluking and a very tough day Cod fishing.  We started off on the Nantucket Fluke grounds and had great action all day with some amazing quality sized fish.  Most fish averaged 4-6 pounds and we had over 35 fish from 8-10 pounds and 5 fish from 10-12 pounds and a 13.4 pound personal best for angler, Bruce Wahl.  By the end of the day everyone had a load of big fluke. Day 2 we decided to go Cod fishing on Coxes Ledge due to the slow fishing reports coming from anglers on Georges Bank.  We didn’t find much better results on Coxes Ledge as they were having on Georges Bank.  We covered a lot of ground from 180 feet of water up to 60 feet…

Sun June 23 – 1/2 Day Fishing Trip PM

Sun June 23 1/2 Day FIshing PM Captain Phil reports on the Viking Stariper that crew, Captain and fishers were kept busy this afternoon. Lots of action, rods were bent all afternoon but only some keeper Fluke and some keeper Sea Bass. The pool winner was 4 year old Marco Brucato of Queens, New York. Marco enjoyed his first time fishing with his Mom and Dad.  

Mon June 24 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports from the Viking Star; Porgy fishing remained tough today near the Montauk Lighthouse. After the Viking Star moved further off shore the fishing improved with a slow steady pick of quality Porgies and Sea Bass. All the fish caught were good; most of them keepers. The pool winners today were Danny Hsu of East Meadow with a 4 1/2 pound Scup and Martin Tejeda of the Bronx, NY with a 6 pound Seas Bass. +5  

Sun June 23- Light House Jumbo Porgies and Seabass

Sat June 22 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

1/2 Day PM Capt Phil reports fast and furious action on the Viking Stariper. We had multiple fish on at the same time keeping the mates busy! We had a few keeper Fluke and a bunch of shorts. There were also some SeaBass, but we tried to ignore them since you can’t keep them until tomorrow. The pool winner was Tim Scott with a 5 lb Fluke.
