Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports a tough day with the weather conditions. It was very windy and tough to feel the bite, but we did manage to put a decent catch of Porgies and Sea Bass together. We also had about 5 keeper Cod. The first place pool winner was Eufemio Yane from Brooklyn, NY with a 2 3/4 lb Porgy. The second place pool winner was Angel Hernandez from Brooklyn, NY with a 12 lb Cod fish.

Rusty Belly Blackfish/Sea Bass Viking Star Captain Steven Sr reports a decent trip to the blackfish grounds aboard the Viking Star. Blackfishing started off okay, but then slowed down when the tide changed. We had some action and managed some shorts and keepers. It slowed up a bit and we ended up with about 90 blackfish. Then we made a quick drop for some cod and sea bass and got a nice mess of sea bass and some keeper cod. Billy Longnecker of Southampton took first and second place with an 8.6lb blackfish and a 4.8lb sea bass. And Ron cohen of Center Moriches took third place with a 14lb cod.

Fri Nov 24 Viking Starship

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We has good action all day with mixed sizes coming over and a decent amount of keepers. There were tons of sea bass today between 3-5lbs and just about everyone had their limit. We had some nice porgies mixed in, with just a few dogfish around. We also had a handful of cod up to 12lbs. It was an all around nice day on the water. The pool winner was Dennis Rafftus of Shirley, NY with a 3lb porgy.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Viking Starship Captain Dave reports another excellent day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We did have to search around a bit this morning, but when we found them, we found them good! We had a nice mix of porgies, nice sea bass and about a dozen cod up to 15lbs. Today’s pool winner was Boris Cunningham of North Carolina with a nice 3.2lb porgy.

Block Island Cod and Sea Bass LTD Viking Star Captain Steven Jr reports that despite a rough, rainy day we put a good catch together. Everyone who put in the time in at the rail had their limit of nice sea bass with a couple cod, with some scup in the mix. The sea bass pool was around 5lbs and the cod pool was taken by a 12 pounder.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a good day with a little bit of everything on the Viking Starship. We started in the shallow water close to Block Island, but the action dropped off so we did not stay very long. We then moved offshore into the deeper water and had a nice mixed bag of Porgies, Sea Bass and Bluefish. We made a couple of drops and had good action on all of them. The pool winner for both pools was Aaron Kalladeen from Hillside, NJ with a 3.2 lb Porgy and a 14.4 lb Cod. All fishing trips are cancelled for Sunday November 19th due to the gale force winds expected.
