Tues June 20
Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a decent day of porgy fishing today. There was a big ground swell, but that didn’t stop us from having a full day of fishing and managing to get everyone to their limit of porgies. They were all mixed sizes. We also had one striped bass and a bunch of sea bass that were all released unharmed. Today’s pool winner was Kevin Huang “Flounder of Brooklyn” with a nice 3lb porgy.
Wed June 15 Offshore Cod/ Fluke Special
Cod/ Fluke Special Captain Steve Sr reports a very good trip offshore this past week. We had cod, haddock, halibut, fluke were all caught aboard the Viking Starship! It was as good as it gets on day 1 for cod fishing- we had nice size fish from 5-9lbs. The haddock ran very good as well….

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports another great day of Porgy fishing aboard the Viking Star this morning. We anchored up and the bite was strong early in the morning. We dropped and moved two or three times and there was plenty of action each time. There was plenty of nice large Porgies and just a handful of smaller ones. We also got two keeper Stripers. The Pool winner was Joseph Leesang with a 3.5lb Porgy.
Sun June 18
Half Day Fishing PM Captain Steven Jr reports a slower afternoon of fishing than this mornings trip. We had some tough conditions, but we still managed a handful of keepers. It was still better fishing than we have seen so far this season. Today’s first place pool winner was John Tuohy of Sag Harbor with a 4.2lb fluke and in second place was James Mazzara of Bellport with a 3.8lb fluke.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a good day of porgy fishing today! We drifted first thing this morning and had really nice big fish! Then we anchored by the lighthouse and picked away all day. We had a mixed size porgies, 1 keeper fluke, 1 striped bass and a bunch of sea bass, that were all released unharmed. All in all, it was a really good day fishing. Today’s pool winner was Donald Moy of Manhattan with a nice big 3.75lb porgy.

1/2 Day Fishing Capt Carl reports a great afternoon 1/2 Day trip with a lot of fluke flying into the boat. We had a good amount of keepers today. The first place pool winner was Matt Williams from Lake Grove, NY and the second place winner was Craig Balestras from Commack, NY both with fluke.

Sat June 17
Half Day Fishing AM Captain Carl reports good fishing today aboard the Stariper. The fluke were slow today, with lots of shorts, but we did have a lot of big porgies coming over the rail. Everyone left with a bag of filets to take home. Today’s first place pool winner was Martin Davidson of Freeport with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Earl Purvis of Queens with a 3lb porgy.

Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports a very tough night of fishing aboard the Viking Star. There was a stiff SE wind and a strong tide, which made it too bad to drift. We did manage one beauty at 39lbs by Doug Seay.
