Fri June 16

Montauk Jumbo Poriges Captain Dave reports an excellent day of fishing aboard the Viking Star today. There was lots of action today with the fish biting from start to finish. We caught plenty of nice quality, mostly large Porgies. We also caught some throwback Sea bass and a handful of Fluke. The pool winner was Neville Patterson from Brooklyn with a 3lb Porgy.

Thurs June 15

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star today, which came in early as everyone reached their limits! Conditions were rough in the morning with strong winds but the fish still bit well. There was lots of nice sized Porgies as well as about half a dozen keeper Fluke and two keeper Stripers. Lots of blues were coming over the rails too and some Sea bass which were all released unharmed. The Pool winner was Jimmy Hughes of Lindenhurst NY with a nice 3.5lb Porgy.

Wed June 14

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent morning of Porgy fishing aboard the Viking Star. We were able to spend most of the day drifting around the lighthouse picking away at plenty of good quality porgies. We also got two keeper Striped Bass and lots of Sea Bass which were all released unharmed. We got lots of action around the Lighthouse all day until the tide got too fast during the last hour. Even after we moved for the last hour we still picked away at some smaller Porgies and some blues. The pool winner was Andreas Voutsinas from Queens NY with a nice 3.5lb Porgy.

Mon June 12

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing aboard the Viking Star today. The morning started off well around the lighthouse with lots of large sized fish. As the tide turned too fast we anchored up at the beach and picked away there until about 10.30. After that it was as if the switch turned off for keepers. We only caught a handful of porgies in the last two hours or so but plenty of Sea bass were coming over the rails. All were released unharmed. The pool winner was Chang from Flushing, Queens NY with a 3.1lb Porgy.

Half Day Fishing PM Captain Steven Jr reports a slow afternoon of fishing due to the tough conditions. We had lots of shorts and a handful of keepers. Today’s pool winner was Ed Palkot of Houston, TX with a 3.5lb fluke.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a good day of porgy fishing today aboard the Viking Star. It was slower this morning with the full moon tide on, which made for tough fishing conditions, but we searched around and found them. It was very good with lots of mixed size fish, we also had a lot of sea bass that were all released unharmed, and a handful of blues in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Donald Moy of Manhattan with a nice 3lb porgy.

Half Day Fishing AM Captain Carl reports a morning of good action aboard the Viking Stariper. The keeper fluke were hard to come by this morning, but we did managed a couple keepers and lots of shorts. We also had 1 keeper striped bass and 2 short, along with some sea bass, which were all released unharmed.

Night Striped Bass Capt Carl reports another EXCELLENT night of  bass fishing aboard the Viking Star! We had incredible action from the first drop to the last! 1/2 Day Fishing-PM Capt Carl reports a lot of action this afternoon on the Viking Stariper, but we only had a few keepers. The pool winner for 1st and 2nd place was Jim Covell from Norwood, NJ with a 4 lb &  a 3.5 lb fluke!
