1/2 Day Fluke-AM Captain Carl reports excellent fishing with a lot of keepers. Every group went home with fish. The first place pool winner was Glenn Schwitter from New Milford, CT with a 6.2lb fluke. The second place pool winner was Kamal Chata from Jackson Heights, NY with a 5.7lb fluke. 1/2 Day Fluke-PM Captain Carl reports another excellent afternoon of fishing. Several locals climbed out of their caves from winter hibernation. Some of the highlights included Freddie “Motor” Shay catching 7 keeper fluke (ORL) up to 6.5lbs. Bill Swill needed a tutorial on how to use his rod, and after that somehow managed to catch a keeper fluke. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports another very good day of fishing. Everyone retained their limit today, with mixed size porgies and some blues. Today’s pool winner was Jose Holguin of Monroe with a nice 3.5lb porgy. We are sold out for Sun 5/29 and Mon 5/30, we still have availability for the rest of the week so please make your reservations! AM-1/2 Day Fluke Captain Carl reports okay fishing with plenty of short action. We had a decent amount of keepers and sea bass that we had to throw back. Half Day Fluke AM Captain Steven Sr reports a good first day of fluke fishing aboard the Viking Starship! It started a bit slow, but after a few drops we were on the fish! We had some nice keepers and lots of shorts throughout the rest of the morning. A special shout out to Mary Poppins, who caught a nice keeper, and her daughter, Viking Fleet’s own Christi Brown who got a nice 3.5lb fluke! Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent day of porgy fishing today! The bite was on with mixed size fish up to 3.5lbs. Everyone had their limit and we also had a mix of blues and some sea bass, which were all released unharmed. New Bedford Porgies Captain Anthony reports that fishing was good and everyone had their fill of jumbo sea bass and scup. We also had some nice fluke and black fish brought on board. Far & Deep Exploring New Grounds – May 18th to May 22 Captain Steven Sr. reports the Far & Deep Trip was outstanding. We went FAR! and DEEP! Weather, fishing and our explorers were great! Day 1 – Full coolers of tile, big pollack, hake in the first four hours. We then took a little ride looking around and we had a mid-day pick, but by 4pm it was on again with big tiles, barrel’s, hake, and northern grouper with double headers and even a triple header on 2 hooks! We had full coolers again by dark. Day 2 – Exploring for LG tile was slow the first half of the day, but by 11am tiles of all sizes started coming over the rail. For three hours it was good – good. New Bedford, MA Porgies and Sea Bass-AM Captain Anthony reports fair to good fishing with jumbo scup and sea bass all around. The first place pool winner was Denitta Dawkins from Boston, MA with a 4lb porgy. The second place pool winner was Paul Sauer from Boston, MA with a 5lb sea bass. Montauk Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports that after a bit of a slow start the fishing got very good. Dave Duffy Charter – May 12th to May 15th Captain Steven Sr. reports – What a trip! It could not have worked out any better. We had an awesome group of guys with more laughing and joking than a lot of trips. John & Johnny were quite the characters. Day 1 – We had picture perfect weather. It was a 10! We had rods bending from the first drift at 8am until the last at 8pm. We had a mix of stuff. Tile, Hake, Cusk, Pollock, Cod, Rosie’s, Barrel’s and some mystery fish also! Day 2 – We put all efforts into LG and XXL fish and we did pull it off with some really nice fish up to 48.8lbs. We had 10 fish over the 25lb mark, 5 over 30lbs, 2 over 40lbs. Montauk Spring Porgies – Viking FiveStar Captain Dave reports decent early fishing despite the windy conditions. We had mixed sized porgies up to 3lbs. Everyone went home happy with full coolers! We are looking forward to getting out there daily mid-week.

Fri May 6th to Sun May 8th – 38 Hour Tile Express Captain Steven Sr reports that despite “Mother Nature” we beat our way out to the grounds. We did not have a great start to the trip due to the conditions. Fishing was very slow. By 11AM conditions straightened out and we had good drifts with excellent fishing until about 2PM with double headers coming over the rails. Then “Mother Nature” gave us a curve ball and fishing slowed down. By about 5PM things changed and we started picking away again until we had to go home. Captain Steven Sr and mates Steve “Ho” and Steve Martinez filleted for over 3 hours sending everyone home with a great product. All in all it was a good trip with everyone taking home plenty of fish. Fri April 29-Sun May 1 Deep Deep Hake/Tile Exploratory Trip Capt Steven Sr. reports that despite “Mother Nature” we pushed on regardless with 20-25mph winds. We were excited to see on the first drift that fish were biting and rods were bending! We worked the area all day with excellent results. We had tile, hake, pollack and barrel fish. Cousin, Don Briand was high hook! On Day 2 the weather subsided and we headed to deep water. It was extremely good with catches of hake and tile. There were at least a dozen hake over 20lbs. The first place Tile pool winner was Paul Ryan from Middletown, NY with a 25.7 lb fish. The first place Hake pool was a tie with Roy Bess from NYC and Paul Ryan! They were 24.1 lbs.
