Far & Deep Exploring New Grounds – May 18th to May 22
Captain Steven Sr. reports the Far & Deep Trip was outstanding. We went FAR! and DEEP! Weather, fishing and our explorers were great! Day 1 – Full coolers of tile, big pollack, hake in the first four hours. We then took a little ride looking around and we had a mid-day pick, but by 4pm it was on again with big tiles, barrel’s, hake, and northern grouper with double headers and even a triple header on 2 hooks! We had full coolers again by dark. Day 2 – Exploring for LG tile was slow the first half of the day, but by 11am tiles of all sizes started coming over the rail. For three hours it was good – good. Full coolers again. The PM big fish hunt was on and we had LG tiles coming over the rail up to 42.2lbs. That finished up the day. Day 3 – We went cod fishing on a few wrecks and it was Lock and Load with a mix of keepers and shorts. By 1pm it was time to call it a trip with plenty-plenty of fish. The coolers were packed with meat! We had 9 fish over 30lbs with 4 of them being over 40lbs. Chris Link showed his big tile skills with 2 tile over 30lbs and the pool winner at 42.2lbs. Other pool winners were Dave Mercado with a 15lb cod and Alex with a 25lb northern grouper. Capt Steven Sr, Capt Dave, Jesse and Joey “Galley” want to thank everyone who was willing to go far & deep! It was truly a great trip.

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies – Viking Fivestar
Captain Dave reports that the porgies were a little off the bite today, but for about 1 hour we had really solid porgy fishing with double headers that were a nice size. There were some blue fish and we threw back sea bass.

New Bedford, MA Porgies & Sea Bass
Captain Anthony reports fair fishing with market sized scup and sea bass. The sea bass fishing is really good. The pool winner was Jackie Q from Brooklyn, NY with a 3 1/2lb porgy.
