40-50 Mile Wreck Trip Captain Steven reports that the first wreck was slow, but the second wreck was very very good putting together a great catch of sea bass and ling. It slowed down for the rest of the day, but the boat had its full limit of sea bass, ending this seasons 30-50 Mile Wreck Trips on a good note. Captain Steven and Captain Carl and the Viking Crew would like to thank everyone for coming out and wish everyone a very Happy Holiday! Block Island Mixed Bag Captain Dave reports a slower day today aboard the Viking Starship. We still managed a decent catch of about 30-35 cod and some nice sea bass. Today’s first place pool winner was L. Ramrood of Queens with a 10lb cod and in second place was Azim Khan of Brooklyn with an 8lb cod. .

SCHEDULE UPDATE: The 5am Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass trip for tomorrow Tuesday Dec 9th has been CANCELLED due to WEATHER! Please give the office a call @631-668-5700 or book online at vikingfleet.com Starting Wednesday December 10th we will be sailing Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays until the end of the month for Block Island Cod and Sea Bass. Departing at 5am and returning at 3pm. The fare is $95. Due to INSANE Sea Bass fishing Capt. Carl has added a 30-50 mile Wreck Trip for Giant Sea Bass, Cod, etc. We will sail on the Viking Star limited to 40 passengers and the fare will remain $150. Saturday Dec 6

30-40 Mile Wreck Trip Capt Carl reports another fantastic day of wreck fishing on the Viking star. The weather was beautiful all day, especially for December, and the wrecks we hit were full of life! Giant, Jumbo, Knothead, Mahuska, Molly Whopper Seabass bit the hooks with fury, and double headers were normal. Most people had a limit in the first 20 minutes. We only had a few cod for the day. Pollack, white hake, ling, giant bergals, scup, and whiting rounded out the catch as well. It was truly a great day to be out on the water. Kurt Wuesterfeld took the seabass pool with a 6.79 pounder! Friday Dec 5

Block Island Mixed Bag Report Capt Ant reports a decent day at Block with basically every winter species caught. Sea Bass remained solid with majority getting their limit despite a brutal east wind. We had a good amount of nice green cod, fat beautiful red hake, some Porgys and jumbo cunners. We had one pool today for largest edible and that went to B.Y. Chen of Brooklyn with a 12.6lb cod.

Thursday Dec 4

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Carl reports a bit of a slower day today aboard the Viking Star. We had mostly sea bass today with most people catching their limit, about 30-35 keeper cod and a handful of porgies. Today’s pool winner was Fang Yung Xing of NY, NY with a nice 5.2lb sea bass.

Tuesday December 2

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports despite the rough weather it was a good day of fishing. There were plenty of sea bass, but no porgies. There were about 20 keeper cod on the boat and an 8lb black fish.
