New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Pm Captain Dave reports that the afternoon trip started off picky but as the day went on fishing got better. The pool winner was Mr John Ford from Lakewood, NJ with a 3lb Half Day Fluke PM Capt Ant reports despite the stiff east wind and rolly conditions, we had an excellent afternoon of fluke fishing! First place winner was Kevin Timony of Farmingville with a 4.7lb fluke. Half Day Fluke PM Capt Ant reports an okay afternoon of fluke fishing today. We had some tougher conditions with some sea weed in the way, but we still managed to get some meat on the boat. Today’s pool winner was Jose Ruiz of Brooklyn with a nice 7.5lb fluke. New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Capt Dave reports another good day on the porgy ground in New Bedford. There was lots of action today and most people did have their limit with both the porgies and sea bass! We also had some really nice blackfish in the mix. New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing up in New Bedford today. We had mostly really nice size and quality porgies, with some smaller sea bass in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Dennis Phillips of Upper Marlboro, MD with a BIG BIG 3.75lb porgy! Montauk Porgies Captain Ant reports our local porgy trip is on fire. Only 30 minutes in and buckets are filling with the largest kind of super scup. We are sailing tomorrow at 5a sharp!!!

Attention Porgy Fanatics! The scup have finally arrived in the back bays. We’ve received reports from our commercial fishing friends and they are chewing now that the water warmed up. Due to weather, tomorrow’s trip will not sail. However we are definitely sailing Friday as the forecast couldn’t be better. New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass PM Captain Dave reports a very good afternoon of fishing in New Bedford! He says ” It’s Porgy Time!” He thinks it is the start of some really good porgy fishing! There is a new body of fish coming in, and we had them coming over the rails all afternoon! We had mostly big fish, nice porgies and a few very nice sea bass in the mix as well. New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Pm Captain Dave reports a much better afternoon trip with some mixed size fish we had more sea bass. The pool Mr Brian Bagg from Long Island City with a 3lb Edible pool winner was Mr Atkinson from Queens,NY with a 4lb sea bass. Night Striped Bass Capt Ant Reports a slow night on the grounds although the bass have showed up. We unfortunately caught the tail end of the tide and had to sit through slack and wind against the ebb for much of the voyage. Angelo D had 6 keepers all to 3.5lbs the Albany Lacrosse boys went home with a 15lbs of fillet. Pool winner Steve Hanford City Island, NY with a 4.75lber. 6th Annual Hungry Man Great Trip !! Trip started off with some fluking close to home and had a slow pick of fish, but some nice quality sized fish. Jose Ruiz was on fire on the fluke grounds catching his limit plus quickly taking the fluke pool with a 8.3lber. From there we headed offshore over night and were on the grounds just after light. The deep water started off with the first tile coming over the rail @30lbs, for chris link. The rest of the day we had steady action with a mix of tiles, hake cusk and some large pollock. The second day was all about the tiles, started off with a pick of small and medium tiles on the first couple drifts then we tried a new area and found the quality. most fish were around 10lbs…

Monday May 12- Third Annual New London Express
3rd Annual New London Express Capt. Steven Sr reports a good trip despite the weather. We had steady 20-25 mph winds, but the fish didn’t mind! They were biting all day with drifts as good as 15-18 fish with some double headers. We had a good mix of fish- tilefish, cod, hake, pollack- all nice quality fish in the 12-18lb class. It was a great group of guys and they worked like a team the entire day! Matt Wolak, 14 years old, gave all the older guys a run for their money taking the pool with the 2 biggest fish on the boat with a 24lb and 23lb tilefish.
