Friday July 11th

Block Island Behemoths

Captain Ant reports another Basstastic night on the Viking Starship. Moo Cows were grazing all night with or without tide. Not much else to say other than we had our boat limit. Highlights were John Dempsey who finally limited out, with a pair of 30+ lbers, congrats john. Corrado also limited out with fish to 34lbs. Steve Bento came back and had 3(ORL) to 32lbs. Jonny Jesus of the elbow made his first appearance with his bro & buddy chad they combined for 9(ORL) chad with the largest at 35lbs. Mikey Nelson also limited to 31lbs. While most fish were in the moo cow 30lbs class Gary Kolesar had a Behemoth at 41lbs even. Jigar Patel took second with a 36.11 lber great name for a fisherman Jigar, although he used eels exclusively tonight. Half Day Fluke Pm

Captain Steven Sr reports a slow afternoon of fluke fishing due to the tough conditions.  We moved around a bit and found some nice jumbo porgies with some nice fluke in the mix. Everyone went home with a fish. The pool winner was Christopher Jobin from MT Vernon NY with a 3.8lb Fluke.

Full Day Fluke
Captain Carl reports a good day of fluking on the full day trip aboard the viking stariper.In the morning we caught some quality flukes in the 4.6lb range as well as many many jumbo sea bass that we released unharmed. The middle of the day slowed a bit, but the afternoon again had steady fishing of quality fluke. Ronnie J limited out with fluke to 6lbs, as did Steve Bento. Steve also took the pool with a 9.2 pond Viking Doormat. He also had a 6.0lber. Brandon Lee nailed 3 keepers…a4,a5,and a 6lber!!! We are looking forward to next weeks trips when we will be able to keep all the jumbo sea bass we released today!!

Montauk Local Porgies

Captain Dave reports a though day fishing due to full moon tide. When the rite conditions came there was some good catches with mix sized porgies and fluke keepers. Some nice sea bass were caught and released unharmed. Overall a okay day of fishing. The pool winner was Gary Hauck from Wading River and Devalin Brissett Brooklyn, NY. Second was Anthony Lallave from Manhattan.

Pool winner was Anna Smith from Floral Park, NY with a 5.71lb Fluke and second was Lee Siracuse with a 5.37lb Fluke NY, NY. More to follow…
