Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day despite the rough weather today. We had plenty of sea bass- most everyone caught their limit. We had to go looking for the porgies today, but once we found them the bite was one. We had really big fish today with both the porgies and sea bass. We also had some cod in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Peter Chin of Jamaica with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was John Stella of Bridgehampton with an 11lb cod.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave and Captain Anthony both report a good day of fishing today. Fishing started a bit slow with a lot of dogs around, but once we found them the bite was on. We had tons of porgies and a lot of really nice sea bass. There was also a handful of cod and some blues in the mix. Aboard the Viking Star, the first place pool winner was Jared Dubrowsky of Hewlett NY with a 3.75lb porgy and in second place was Shirley Danne of Queens with a 8.5lb cod. Aboard the Viking Superstar, the first place pool winner was Rosalie Zaharias of Brooklyn with a 3lb porgy and in second was Curtis Arwold of West Babylon with a 6lb bluefish.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another very good day of porgy fishing today. The porgy bite is on with lots of them in big sizes coming over the rail. We also had a few sea bass up to about 4lbs. We also had a handful of keeper cod. Today’s pool winner was Michael Smith from Valley Stream with a JUMBO 4lb porgy.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports as he did yesterday that it is PORGY TIME!!! We had lots of really big porgies today. We went looking for the sea bass and ended up with a decent catch of pretty nice sized fish up to 6lbs. We did have some blues and about a half dozen cod in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Mark Rafferty of Medford with a JUMBO 4.75 lb porgy and in second place was Ron Stehn of Combs Bait and Tackle with a 15lb cod.

We also had some really nice sea bass up to 6lbs in the mix, along with about 10 keeper cod and some blues too. Today’s first place pool winner was Lou Diamantopoulos of Mastic Beach with a nice 4lb porgy, and in second was Patrick Bartlett of Brooklyn with a 10lb cod.

Today’s first place pool winner was Apostolos Trampakoulos of Bellmore with a 3.5lb porgy, and in second was George Angelidis of Montauk with a 10lb cod. Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports the Night Bass was Like fishing the desert. We got our butts kicked as the wind never laid down. We had nicer sized fish today, mostly porgies, a handful of sea bass from 2-5lbs and about a dozen keeper cod. Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a tough day of fishing due to the high winds and rough seas. We did manage to have a decent catch of mixed size porgies and a few sea bass. Today’s pool winner was Jose Rodriguez of Flushing with a 3lb porgy.

Everyone was pretty close their limit with some really nice sized porgies. We also had a few big sea bass and about 15 keeper cod up to about 12lbs.
