Tue July 16 – Full Moon Striped Bass

Capt Carl reports a tough night aboard the Viking Starship. We had heavy boat traffic and really couldn’t get locked in, but we did manage a few beauties and some Bluefish. It was not what we were looking for on the Full Moon trip and we are hoping for better results on our next trip August 15th. James Panchookian of Bethpage took first place with a 36 lb Striped Bass. Blair Horning of Pennsylvania took second place with a 34 lb bass.

Tue July 16 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Steven Jr reports nonstop action the whole afternoon keeping the rods bent. We had another load of Seabass with a nice mess of jumbos mixed in. A couple of guys had their limit of Seabass. We also had Porgies and a bunch of short Fluke in the mix. No pool this afternoon.

Tue July 16 – Hooks for Heroes Charter

Capt Carl ran the Viking Starship today chartered by Hooks for Heroes with the E69/C28/BN16 gangs in honor of Michael Davidson who gave the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The guys enjpyed a picture perfect day on the water catching loads of giant SeaBass, lots of Fluke and some Scup. It was a great day fishing and an absolute honor for us to host such a great group of heroes! Thank you all for your service!

Tue July 16 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Stariper. We started out on the SeaBass grounds where it was not as good as yesterday, but everyone had their limits with some nice fat ones after picking thru the little fish. We headed back to the lighthouse after that and found mixed size Porgies and some SeaBass. We also had about a 1/2 dozen keeper fluke and a bunch of shorts. The first place pool winner was Mauricio Blanco with a 3.7 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Wing Ng from NJ with a 6.1 lb Fluke.

Tues July 16- 1/2 Day FIshing AM

1/2 Day Fishing AM Capt Steven Jr reports a trip with plenty of action. We had a beautiful day out on the water and we caught tons of great sized Seabass. The Fluke fishing was a little bit on the slow side today but everyone went home happy with nice keepers. The pool winner was Alyson Sena from Bayport, NY with a 3.8 lb Seabass.  

Mon July 15 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

1/2Day Fishing PM Captain Carl reports from the Viking Stariper that this afternoon’s trip continued the great fishing we had on the AM trip. We returned to the scene of the crime and bent the rods all afternoon. Lots of quality, large Sea Bass. Although we only had a couple of keeper Fluke all of our anglers this afternoon went home with BAGS of Sea Bass and Porgy fillets. This afternoon’s pool winner wasJerry DiNapoli from Smithtown NY with a 21 inch 3 pound Fluke

Mon July 15 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports from the Viking Starship. We changed things up a little this trip and started off to the East closer to Block Island. Lots of quality, healthy Sea Bass. A few keeper Fluke and a few good Porgies were taken before we headed back West towards the Montauk Lighthouse. Porgies a little off the bite at the light, but anglers continued to bring in some sizable Sea Bass. The winner of the pool was BIlly Lau of Brooklyn NY with a 3 pound Scup. All are anglers arrived at the dock with plenty of fish to take home.

Mon July 15 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain Carl reports on the Viking Stariper. Excellent fishing today.  The captain, crew and anglers all enjoyed the almost perfect weather conditions.  Rods were bending all morning.  Loads of Sea Bass, almost everyone got their daily limit of keepers.  Some Porgies were brought aboard and a good amount of keeper Fluke.  First place in the pool was Kaitlin Cestaro with a 7.1 pound Fluke.  Second place in the pool went to Mike Capone  with a 3.2 pound Fluke. Both of these winners were from Medford, NY.

Sun July 14- 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt. Carl reports a god trip that started off with tons of action. We had lots of Seabass and some small Flukes. Later on in the trip we found some nice keeper Flukes to fill in the missing. The pool winner was Vanessa Levy from Rockville Center, with a 2o inch and 2 1/2 lb…

Sun July 14- Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Capt. Dave reports from The Viking Starship excellent Porgy fishing this morning, we went down the beach due to the tide and had great action. The Porgies were a bit smaller than usual but we got some good keepers and decided to go offshore and drift for some Sea Bass. We picked through a bunch of small Sea Bass but the keepers we got were nice in size. We had some Trigger Fish, Bluefish, and some Mackerel. The pool winner was Juan Sanchez from NY, NY with a 3 lb Porgy.
