Sun July 14- 1/2 day Fishing AM

Capt Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had a good bite to start, on the end of the flood tide. Then the bite was strong again on the beginning of the outgoing tide. All in all it was a good trip. We ended up with a nice catch…

Sat July 13- Night Striped Bass Trip

Capt. Phill reports a good trip with bass up to 35 lbs. We caught a lot of blues and a couple of bass. During the day we caught porgies and some blues during our jigging period. The pool winner was Christos Farantatos from Hudson NY, with a 35 lb striped bass.

Sat July 13- 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt. Phill reports a beautiful day for fishing. There was good fishing with tons of Seabass action good Fluke fishing and some Porgies mixed in. We got a lot of keeper Seabass and a handful of kepper Fluke. The first place pool winner was Christian Eckart from Hampton Bays, NY, with a 6.0 lb Fluke….

Sat June 13 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Starship. We started out offshore for SeaBass and we had a lot of action. We had a bunch of small ones we threw back, but everyone had keeper size Jumbos. We moved on to the lighthouse for the rest of the day drifting for Porgies and we had very good fishing. The first place pool winner was Tee Kuldip from Elmont, NY with a 2 3/4 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Ron Thapa from Elmont, NY with a 3 lb SeaBass.

Sat July 13 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports steady fishing on the Viking Star. It was a really nice morning with anglers catching keeper Fluke, really nice SeaBass, Mackerel and Bluefish. The first place pool winner was Noh Park from Fresh Meadows, NY with a 4.5 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Matt Messina from Wading River, NY with a 3.2 lb Fluke.

Fri July 12- Whale Watching Trip

Minke Whale on a Beautiful Day We left Montauk harbor today with beautiful blue skies and good visibility to search for whales and had just enough of a swell to give the passengers an exciting “ride”. We cruised along the south shore of Montauk and enjoyed great views of the bluffs and hills. As usual we saw some pelagic seabirds, either skimming the waters or diving for fish and although we were several miles offshore we also had many butterflies fly past the ship. > We then came upon a Minke whale, about 5 miles south of Montauk town. It surfaced several times in a few locations around the boat. Since there were patches of small fish under the ship we assume it was actively feeding. Fri July 12 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

1/2 Day Fishing PM Capt Joey D reports a pretty good afternoon on the Viking Star. It started out slow, but once the tide got moving we had action with Fluke, SeaBass and Porgies and a lot of Sea Robbins. The pool winner was Linda Statam from Westhampton Beach with a 5 lb Fluke.

Fri July 12 – Schedule Update!

Attention Viking Anglers! We will DEFINITELY be sailing on our upcoming offshore XXXL Tile Hunt/Full Moon Sword Trip! Captain Steven Sr just returned from another commercial fishing trip and had Big-Eye Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, and plenty of Tilefish as well! The weather looks perfect and we have a small crowd signed up so don’t miss your opportunity to join in on this special trip. It could be a TRIP OF A LIFETIME! Fri July 12 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports another great day on the Viking Starship. We started out offshore anchored for SeaBass and we had a lot of action. We did have to pick thru the some small fish, but everyone had quality keepers. When the tide eased off we drifted by the lighthouse and had quality large and jumbo Porgies with some SeaBass mixed in. The pool winner was Rasin from Long Beach, NY with a 3 lb Porgy.

Fri July 12 – 1/2 Day AM

Capt Mike reports a good morning on the Viking Star. Conditions were tough to start and it was a bit slow until we were able to get on a good drift. We then had good action with keeper Fluke, Sea Bass, Striped Bass and Bluefish.
