Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports excellent fishing today on the Viking Starship. Fishing has been pretty consistent all week, we had great fishing in the early morning at the lighthouse. Then we went offshore to the SeaBass grounds where fishing was very good with mixed size fish up to 5 1/2 lbs. There were also a lot of Mackerel. The pool winner was Peter Seabrooke from Kings Park, NY with a 3.2 lb Porgy.

1/2 Day Fishing – AM Capt Joe reports a great morning of fishing on the Viking Star. We had a lot of actions with Fluke, Porgies, Sea Bass and Mackerel. The pool winner was John Priani from Oakdale, NY with a 5.5 lb Fluke.

Night Bass Capt Carl reports a tough grind on the bass grounds tonight. Before dark we saw some blues, some scup, some sea bass, a keeper fluke, and we lost a big Striped Bass close to the boat. After dark, we had a few bites but only landed 1 Striped Bass. We will try again tomorrow night and Saturday night and expect things to pick up next week as we approach the next full moon. Caroline Hunt of Old Brookville, NY took the pool with a 24 pounder.

1/2 Day Fishing – PM Capt Joe reports a tough afternoon on the Viking Star. We had a strong west wind with a hard ebb tide that made for fast drifting conditions. We had action with all the usual suspects bringing some Fluke, Porgies, Sea Bass and Mackerel aboard.
